In observance of the International Day towards Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a neighborhood consciousness programme was organised on June 25 on the Community Health Centre (CHC), Nancowry. The occasion aimed to coach the general public on the hazards of drug abuse and promote a drug-free, wholesome society.
A key spotlight of the programme was a socially impactful skit carried out by healthcare workers, vividly portraying the devastating results of drug dependency on people, households, and the broader neighborhood. The efficiency was met with appreciation and resonated strongly with the viewers.
The occasion witnessed energetic participation from Medical Officers, nursing and assist workers, in addition to members of the native tribal neighborhood, together with Tribal Captains. In an effort to amplify the message, informative banners and slogans selling a drug-free way of life have been displayed all through the well being centre and close by public areas.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. (Lt. Col.) Nirmal Kumar Bajpai, Medical Officer In-Charge, reaffirmed CHC Nancowry’s dedication to preventive healthcare and neighborhood outreach. He emphasised the important position of consciousness and training in tackling the rising menace of drug abuse.
The programme concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, throughout which attendees dedicated themselves to assist de-addiction efforts and foster a tradition rooted in well being, duty, and resilience.
