To mark World No Tobacco Day, the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) organized a Poster Making and Essay Writing Competition that witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age teams throughout the area. The occasion served as a strong platform to unfold consciousness concerning the risks of tobacco and bolstered this yr’s theme, ‘Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference’.
In the Poster Making Competition, Amar Biswas (28) secured the primary prize, adopted by L Lishma Shann Mathew (27) in second place, and Saamvee Kaligithi (12) taking the third spot. Consolation prizes have been awarded to Nandini Mistry (23) and Okay Shruti (18) for his or her commendable efforts.
In the Essay Writing Competition, Diya Bawali (20) emerged as the primary prize winner. The second and third prizes went to Samira Banu (31) and Prajakta Roy (17) respectively, whereas B Sirisha (18) and Shaheen Begum (31) obtained comfort prizes.
The entries have been judged based mostly on creativity, readability of message, and total impression. The winners will obtain prize cash of ₹3000 for first place, ₹2000 for second, ₹1500 for third, and ₹500 every for the comfort prizes.
Through these competitions, the NTCP aimed to foster higher group engagement within the struggle in opposition to tobacco use, particularly by empowering youth and highlighting the manipulative techniques of the tobacco business concentrating on youthful populations.
