The District Congress Committee (South Andaman) noticed the Adoption of the Constitution Day — referred to by the celebration as Samvidhan Bachao Divas — on the Congress Office, Sri Vijaya Puram, on Wednesday. The programme was held beneath the supervision of ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and led by District Congress Committee President Mr. John Robert Babu.
Speakers on the occasion reiterated the importance of safeguarding the core constitutional values of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. The celebration emphasised that defending the Constitution is a shared obligation of residents and establishments, particularly at a time when, in response to celebration audio system, democratic frameworks face rising challenges.
A significant spotlight of the programme was the expression of issues over alleged irregularities within the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Party leaders claimed that manipulation throughout the revision course of may undermine democratic participation and weaken the integrity of the electoral system.
The Congress acknowledged that the observance of Samvidhan Bachao Divas serves not solely as a remembrance of the Constitution’s adoption but in addition as a reaffirmation of the celebration’s dedication to defending democratic rights and constitutional ideas.
Several senior leaders had been current through the programme, together with Mr. G. Bhasker, AICC Member & Chairman of the Campaign Committee, and Mr. Hamid Ali, AICC Member, together with ANTCC spokespersons, TCC members, block presidents, leaders of Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, UWEC, RGPRS, in addition to representatives from City Congress, Fisherman Congress, PRI our bodies, Zilla Parishad, and Municipal Councillors.
The occasion concluded with a collective pledge to uphold democratic values and proceed efforts to guard the Constitution.
