CPI (M) Phases Mass Dharna Over Poor Highway Situations in Sri Vijaya Puram

The Port Blair City Area Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI (M)] organized a mass dharna on seventh October 2025 in entrance of the workplace of the Chief Engineer, APWD, at Sri Vijaya Puram, to protest in opposition to the deteriorating situation of city roads within the capital metropolis.

Inaugurating the demonstration, D. Ayyappan, State Secretary of CPI (M), strongly criticized the Central Government for failing to take concrete steps to restore and renovate the broken roads throughout the islands. He mentioned that the majority roads inside the Municipal space are riddled with potholes, cracks, and uneven surfaces, posing severe dangers to commuters and contributing to frequent accidents. He additionally accused the BJP-led authorities of neglecting public infrastructure by not allocating sufficient funds for street upkeep and restore.
