The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), A & N Administration distributed a complete of 152 Vanaraja chicks, 114 ducklings, and 58 quails from the Composite Livestock Farm (CLF), Basantipur, to 16 beneficiaries of Bakultala Panchayat on October 24. The initiative aimed to advertise yard poultry farming by offering hardy and high-yielding breeds well-suited to the island’s weather conditions.
During the distribution programme, veterinary workers provided detailed steering to beneficiaries on vaccination schedules, feeding practices, and biosecurity measures to make sure wholesome rearing and forestall illness outbreaks.
