A 3-day District Planning Committee (DPC) assembly of North & Middle Andaman District was held from June 17 to 19, 2025, on the Conference Hall of Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman. The assembly was chaired by Mr. Shribas Ch. Das, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman, and attended by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, and Ms. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, together with different DPC members.
The function of the assembly was to deliberate on the seven-year growth technique and finalise the draft prioritized Annual Action Plan (2025–26) for the district.
Heads of Departments from numerous plan-implementing sectors together with Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Fisheries, Transport, Civil Aviation, Civil Supplies, Tribal Welfare, Electricity, Shipping, Police, APWD, Labour & Employment, Tourism, Industries, Social Welfare, Revenue, Education, Sports, Forest, MGNREGA, and others participated within the deliberations.
Detailed discussions had been held on numerous programmes and schemes proposed underneath the draft Annual Action Plan. Several suggestions and strategies had been put forth by the Hon’ble MP and DPC members to be integrated within the ultimate plans of the respective departments to make sure well timed and efficient implementation.
The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ashish Joon, CEO, Zilla Parishad and Ex-officio Secretary, DPC, marking the end result of three days of collaborative planning aimed toward shaping the district’s growth agenda.
