The Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) carried out an earthquake mock drill on the DSS Marine Dockyard on Tuesday to strengthen catastrophe preparedness, response mechanisms and self-discipline amongst its personnel.
The train was carried out beneath the supervision of the Nodal Officer, Disaster Management, DSS, with lively participation from staff of the Marine Dockyard and the Directorate’s Disaster Management Team.
As a part of the simulated emergency, 209 personnel had been evacuated to the designated shelter level. The drill additionally included the rescue of 1 simulated injured individual, who was supplied first help and evacuated by the response crew.
