The Davis Cup Final 8 area is about after Germany, Spain and Great Britain gained their qualifying ties over the weekend, becoming a member of Austria, Canada, South Korea, Czechia and host nation Italy within the November finals.
Germany beat Croatia 3-1 in Halle. Alexander Zverev opened with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Matej Dodig on Saturday, Dino Prizmic beat Daniel Altmaier to degree the tie, and Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz gained the doubles for Germany. Zverev clinched qualification Sunday with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Prizmic.
Spain defeated Chile 3-0 with out Carlos Alcaraz within the lineup. Daniel Merida beat Alejandro Tabilo, Rafael Jodar gained on his Davis Cup debut in opposition to Cristian Garin, and Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar clinched the tie in doubles.
Great Britain blanked Ecuador 4-0 at London’s Copper Box Arena. Toby Samuel and Arthur Fery gained Saturday’s singles matches, Henry Patten and Neal Skupski secured the tie in Sunday’s doubles, and Harry Wendelken gained the lifeless rubber.
The Davis Cup Final 8 will likely be performed November 24-29 on the SuperTennis Arena in Bologna, Italy, on arduous indoor courts.
