In a bid to reinforce rural livelihoods and promote sustainable animal husbandry practices, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services on eleventh April 2025, distributed Ghungroo piglets and Vanaraja chicks to farmers of Wandoor village. The initiative was carried out by the Veterinary Dispensary, Manglutan, as a part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to assist revenue technology and dietary safety amongst rural households.
The Ghungroo piglets, a prolific indigenous breed from West Bengal identified for its adaptability to low-input manufacturing methods, have been supplied to chose farmers. Alongside, day-old Vanaraja chicks—famend for his or her resilience and suitability for yard poultry—have been additionally distributed.
The distribution occasion was held within the presence of Mr. Adhir Das, Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Wandoor; Mr. Uttam Roy, Up-Pradhan; and Ms. Sukhalata Pahar, Member of the Panchayat.
Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Adhir Das lauded the division’s initiative, emphasizing its potential to enhance the financial situation of native farmers by sustainable animal husbandry practices.
The Department continues to encourage such ventures as a way to spice up revenue, enhance vitamin, and create employment alternatives in rural areas.
