Teachers and Heads of Schools employed in recognised Primary, Middle, High, and Higher Secondary Schools are eligible to use for the awards. This contains lecturers working in faculties operated by State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, native our bodies, aided by State Governments or Union Territory Administrations, Central Government Schools, Schools underneath the Ministry of Defence, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) underneath the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and faculties affiliated with the CBSE or CISCE.

However, academic directors, schooling inspectors, employees members of coaching institutes, lecturers or headmasters engaged in non-public tuition, contractual lecturers, and Shiksha Mitras should not eligible for consideration.

The eligibility standards for lecturers have been revised to require a minimal of 10 years of normal service.
