Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written to the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands demanding the development of a Fish Landing Jetty within the Khadi Basthi Area of Baratang Island.
In his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament knowledgeable that the fishermen of Baratang Island have been dealing with difficulties because of the absence of a fish touchdown jetty at Khadi Basthi space of Oralkatcha Village.
He knowledgeable that the dearth of fish touchdown jetty is posing a critical risk to the lives of fishermen as Crocodile sightings are quite common within the space.
