Bengaluru’s National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, and the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) underneath the Union Territory Health Mission, has launched a five-day coaching program on ‘Psychosocial Care in Disaster Management’ for well being professionals within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The program, which started on January 6, 2025, goals to equip contributors with the important expertise to offer psychosocial help to people and communities affected by disasters. The coaching covers essential matters, together with catastrophe administration, psychosocial evaluation, and intervention methods tailor-made for disaster-affected populations.
The coaching has drawn well being care professionals from throughout the Islands, together with psychiatrists, medical officers, medical psychologists, and counsellors.
