As a part of the continued Swachhata Pakhwada marketing campaign, NIOT-ACOSTI organised a coastal clean-up and consciousness drive at North Bay Beach on Wednesday, selling coastal cleanliness, discount of single-use plastics, and sustainable waste administration practices.
Addressing the individuals, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Scientist-F and Officer-in-Charge of NIOT-ACOSTI, emphasised that cleanliness begins at residence and urged everybody to take collective duty for constructing a sustainable future.
The initiative acquired appreciation from Hopetown Panchayat Pradhan Ms. Rashida Bibi, who lauded the robust group participation within the marketing campaign.
A complete of 91 volunteers, together with NIOT-ACOSTI workers, college students and lecturers from Vitala Public School, Panchayat members, and native residents, actively participated within the drive. During the marketing campaign, the volunteers collected 401.4 kg of marine particles from the seashore, contributing to efforts to protect the coastal atmosphere and lift consciousness about accountable waste disposal.
