A person from Sri Vijaya Puram has lodged a grievance with the Cyber Crime Police after dropping ₹41,744 to a web based fraudster whereas trying to e book flight tickets.
According to the grievance, the sufferer was looking for air tickets from Sri Vijaya Puram to Kolkata and again on January 26, 2025, when he got here throughout a web site with the URL www.mydreamsholiday.com. Shortly after, he acquired a WhatsApp message from a enterprise account, the place the sender assured him of discounted tickets and requested a replica of his Aadhaar card.
Believing the transaction to be real, the sufferer shared the requested particulars. He quickly acquired a ticket affirmation for the Sri Vijaya Puram-Kolkata sector through WhatsApp and was requested to make a fee of ₹23,580, which he transferred via UPI.
Following this, one other ticket affirmation for the return sector from Kolkata to Sri Vijaya Puram was despatched, and a further fee of ₹18,164 was demanded, which the sufferer once more transferred via UPI.
However, when the sufferer checked the PNR numbers on the official IndiGo web site the following day, he found that each bookings had been canceled. Upon contacting the fraudster, he was initially assured that the difficulty was because of a technical glitch and could be resolved. But quickly after, the person stopped responding to calls and messages.
On January 10, 2025, the fraudster despatched a message promising to provoke a refund, however no quantity was returned. After a number of unsuccessful makes an attempt to achieve the person, the sufferer reported the matter to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal on February 6, 2025.
