In a horrifying act of home violence, a person was allegedly set ablaze by his personal elder brother in Port Mout, close to Ograbraj Kilan, following an argument throughout a morning consuming session.
The incident came about between 8 and 9 AM on Saturday, seventh June 2025. According to the FIR lodged at Ograbraj Police Station, the sufferer, Mr. Babu Lall (39), a personal labourer, was dwelling along with his mom and elder brother, Ghan Shyam, of their household house. Together, they managed livestock together with cows, pigs, and poultry to maintain their livelihood.
As per Babu Lall’s assertion, he and his brother have been consuming alcohol early within the morning when an argument escalated right into a violent confrontation. Following the altercation, Babu stepped out of the home and sat on a close-by footpath. It was then that Ghan Shyam, in a match of rage, allegedly approached him with a small plastic bottle containing petrol, poured it on him, and ignited it utilizing a matchstick.
“My vest and half-pants caught fire instantly, and flames spread to my hands, chest, and cheek. I somehow managed to remove the burning clothes and run back into the house. I doused the flames with water and wrapped a towel around my waist before escaping to the nearby Ram Mandir premises,” stated Babu in his chilling account recorded at PHC Chouldari.
A police occasion arrived promptly, calling an ambulance and shifting Babu to PHC Chouldari for remedy.
What provides a deeper layer to this incident is the sufferer’s revelation that the identical brother, Ghan Shyam, had earlier murdered their youthful sibling, Raj Kumar — a criminal offense for which he was beforehand imprisoned.
Babu Lall has requested strict authorized motion in opposition to his brother, stating that the try and burn him alive was a deliberate try on his life.
