In a significant crackdown on unlawful liquor possession, the Rangat Police on Saturday seized 66 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) of assorted manufacturers and booked an auto driver for violating excise laws.
The raid was performed by a police staff from Police Station Rangat led by Inspector Mohd. Sameer, SHO, below the supervision of Mr. Chandan G.S., DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Rangat, as a part of ongoing efforts to implement excise legal guidelines and curb unlawful liquor actions.
During the operation, the police recovered 66 bottles of IMFL, together with whisky and rum in 750 ml, 375 ml and 180 ml bottles, from the possession of Bijendra Kumar Yadav (37), son of R.N. Yadav and a resident of Ward No. 5, Golden Street, Rangat.
Upon questioning, the accused reportedly failed to supply any legitimate allow or licence authorising possession of the liquor, thereby violating provisions of the Excise Regulation. The whole consignment was seized and a case has been registered in opposition to him at Police Station Rangat.
