Revenue Department Surveyor M Krishna Arrested by Anti-Corruption Unit for Accepting Bribe

In a decisive operation towards corruption, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) arrested a Revenue Department surveyor from Sri Vijaya Puram for accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000. The arrest occurred throughout a lure operation carried out on twenty first January 2025, associated to the demarcation of land at Prothrapur.  

The operation adopted a written criticism filed with the ACU. Acting on the criticism, a devoted staff led by Inspector Rahul, SHO of the ACU Police Station, was assembled. The staff included Inspector A. Usman, Sub-Inspector Shibendra Nath Halder, and personnel HC/311 Sanju Kr. Kullu, HC/519 S. Siva Kumar, HC/1516 D. Ajay Kumar, and PC/2214 Anil Yadav. To guarantee transparency, the operation was carried out within the presence of two impartial witnesses.  

The staff intercepted the accused, recognized as M. Krishna, 53, in Dollygunj as he arrived in a crimson Maruti Brezza (registration quantity AN01 R 0335). Following a pre-arranged sign from the complainant, the ACU staff apprehended Krishna after he accepted the bribe. The tainted forex notes have been recovered, sealed, and seized within the presence of witnesses, adhering to all authorized protocols.  

The accused was taken to the ACU Police Station together with the seized proof. An FIR was registered towards him beneath Sections 7 and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), beneath FIR No. 01/25 dated 21/01/25. He was arrested and produced earlier than the courtroom on twenty second January 2025, the place he was remanded to judicial custody.
