As a part of the continued TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the District Administration, South Andaman, via the District Health Society (SA) and in coordination with the Directorate of Health Services, organized a tuberculosis screening and outreach camp on 24 November 2025 on the Community Hall, Netaji Nagar, Hut Bay, Little Andaman.
The camp noticed energetic participation from native residents. Mobile digital X-ray amenities had been deployed to supply on-the-spot chest X-rays, aiding within the early detection of TB. Symptomatic people had been screened, counselled and had sputum samples collected for confirmatory checks.
To guarantee inclusive entry, PHC/AAM Hut Bay organized an ambulance service for aged residents, enabling them to comfortably attain the venue and avail the screening companies.
Continuing the initiative, comparable TB outreach and screening camps are being held on 25 November at HWC Ongi Tikrey and 26 November at Community Hall, R.K. Pur. The intensified efforts can even be prolonged to distant and tribal areas of the Islands to make sure nobody is left behind within the nationwide mission to get rid of TB.
The District Health Society has urged the general public to actively take part in these community-level screening camps and assist early detection and well timed therapy of tuberculosis.
