As a part of the continuing Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) marketing campaign 2025, the Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration, organised a UT-level occasion titled Tiranga Mahotsav on the auditorium of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram, on Tuesday. The marketing campaign, being noticed nationwide from August 2 to fifteen, goals to instil patriotism and nationwide delight by encouraging each Indian to hoist the National Flag.
Admiral D Ok Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, graced the event as chief visitor. The occasion featured cultural performances, a patriotic-themed photograph exhibition, and a Tiranga Mela by Self Help Groups beneath the Rural Development Department.
The perform was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS; PCCF Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha, IFS; Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Art & Culture) Ms. Chanchal Yadav, IAS; Chairperson, SVPMC Mr. Shahul Hameed; Secretary (Art & Culture) Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS; and different senior officers of the Administration.
Lt. Governor offered trophies and certificates to winners of the inter-collegiate patriotic dance competitors. The first prize went to TGCE, whereas ANCOL and DBRAIT secured the second and third prizes respectively. JNRM acquired the comfort award.
Welcoming the gathering, Secretary (Art & Culture) knowledgeable that this yr marks the fourth version of the Har Ghar Tiranga marketing campaign. She shared that the Ministry of Culture has dispatched 30,000 National Flags by the Postal Department for family distribution, with extra anticipated to reach to make sure most participation. She emphasised that the initiative seeks to make each family within the Islands a proud participant within the collective celebration of patriotism.
The cultural section started with soul-stirring patriotic songs by a neighborhood cultural organisation. The Tiranga Mela showcased tricolour-inspired handicrafts and artefacts by SHGs, drawing enthusiastic public response.
Proposing the vote of thanks, Ms. Priyanka Kumari, Director, Art & Culture, lauded the efforts of all departments, cultural teams, and individuals in making the occasion a grand success.
