The Department of Agriculture, Rangat, in affiliation with UTATMA, organised a two-day farmers-oriented coaching programme on “Beekeeping, Shifting of Colonies, Bee-box Management, Honey Extraction and Marketing” on the Coconut Plantation, Chitrakut, on December 24 and 26.
The programme aimed to reinforce farmers’ data and abilities in scientific beekeeping practices and to advertise beekeeping as a sustainable income-generating exercise. The coaching commenced with a welcome deal with by Ms. Dhana Laxmi Ok., Agriculture Assistant, who highlighted the significance and scope of beekeeping, together with methods for colony multiplication and honey extraction.
During the technical periods, Mr. C. Santosh Kumar, Agriculture Field Assistant, defined the construction and behavior of bee colonies, their communication strategies, and the method of assembling and putting in bee hives. Mr. Jogeshwar Ram and Ms. Manisha Pathak, Agriculture Field Assistants, elaborated on general bee administration practices and advertising features of honey and associated merchandise.
A complete of 20 farmers participated within the coaching programme and benefited from the sensible and interactive periods designed to strengthen their capability in beekeeping and allied actions.
