A weeklong Anti-Drug Programme-2025, organized by the Science Wing of the Directorate of Education (DDE(Sc.)), commenced on June 23 on the State Library, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. Scheduled to run till June 28, the initiative goals to boost consciousness in regards to the detrimental results of narcotic drug consumption and encourage a drug-free life-style amongst college students, youth, and the broader group.
Ms. Sindhu Pillai A., IPS, Inspector General of Police, A&N Police, graced the event because the chief visitor. Other dignitaries current included Mr. Jitendra Kumar Meena, SP (CID), Padma Shri awardee Mr. Naresh Chander Lal, Mr. Vikram Singh, Director of Education, representatives from the NGO Hope Foundation, ISMAT, police officers, dad and mom, lecturers, and college students.
The spotlight of the inaugural session was the disclosing of the anti-drug marketing campaign emblem, bearing the message “We stand together against Drugs.”
The first day featured a sequence of informative and fascinating actions. The A&N Police carried out a EnergyPoint presentation and interactive session on key subjects such because the POCSO Act, narcotic drug trafficking, and cybercrime. This was adopted by storytelling periods, role-playing video games primarily based on refusal and acceptance, and motivational talks on constructing wholesome habits and embracing a drug-free life.
Around 160 college students actively participated within the programme’s opening day.
In her handle, the chief visitor emphasised the pressing want for collective efforts in combating drug abuse and highlighted the crucial position of schooling and group engagement on this regard.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ram Pravesh, Deputy Director of Education (Science).
