XVI Inter-Village Hodi Race Championship 2026 Held at Car Nicobar

The XVI Inter-Village Hodi Race (Canoe Race) Championship 2026 was efficiently held on Sunday at Chukchucha Village in Car Nicobar as a part of the Tribal Culture Games, showcasing the wealthy cultural heritage and sporting traditions of the Nicobarese neighborhood.

The occasion witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers and opponents, with conventional canoes chopping throughout the waters amid cheers from the native crowd, reflecting robust neighborhood spirit and cultural delight.

Chief Secretary Chandra Bhushan Kumar graced the event because the chief visitor and formally flagged off the semi-finals and finals. The programme was additionally attended by Amit Kale, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District; Rahul L. Nair, Superintendent of Police (D); and Naveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) and Project Officer (ITDP).

Following the occasion, a gathering was convened with villagers of Car Nicobar, members of the Tribal Council, and Heads of Offices and Departments. Various points and grievances raised by the area people have been mentioned intimately.
