The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) organised a protest demonstration close to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday, alleging political vendetta by the BJP-led central authorities.
Led by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker, the protest was held in response to the current seizure of the National Herald’s property and the submitting of cost sheets towards senior Congress leaders, together with Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi. Protesters alleged that the actions had been politically motivated and meant to focus on opposition leaders.
The march started on the Congress Office in Sri Vijaya Puram and proceeded towards the DC Office, with members carrying placards and banners criticising using central businesses such because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which they claimed had been getting used to suppress dissent.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rangalal Halder, Mahila Congress State President Mrs. Zubaida Begum, and NSUI State President & Youth Congress Vice-President Mr. M.A. Sajid, alleged that investigative businesses had been getting used as instruments to harass political opponents. They acknowledged that the Congress Party would proceed to oppose what they described as undemocratic practices and stay dedicated to democratic values.
Representatives from numerous wings of the occasion, together with Mahila Congress, Congress Seva Dal, City Congress, NSUI, Youth Congress, District Congress, OBC Department, Minority Department, Unorganized Workers & Employees Congress, Fisherman Congress, INTUC, Congress PBMC Councillors, and Congress PRI members, had been current on the demonstration.
