The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS) lately organized consciousness applications on Artificial Insemination (AI) in cattle at Joginder Nagar Community Hall beneath Laxmi Nagar Panchayat and on the Veterinary Hospital, Campbell Bay, for Govind Nagar and Campbell Bay Gram Panchayats.
The initiative aimed to teach dairy farmers and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members on scientific breeding methods to boost milk manufacturing, livestock high quality, and rural earnings.
The consciousness classes had been attended by Mr. E.S. Rajesh, Pramukh, Campbell Bay; Mr. Sanjay Ekka, Up-Pramukh, Campbell Bay; Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar; Mr. Venkat, Pradhan, GP Govind Nagar; Mr. Emanual, Up-Pradhan, GP Campbell Bay; ward members from all three Panchayats; and dairy farmers from the respective areas.
Experts from the division highlighted the benefits of adopting Artificial Insemination for enhancing milk yield and genetic high quality. They additionally mentioned using sex-sorted semen for producing feminine calves and the necessity to castrate scrub bulls to make sure efficient AI protection. Additionally, individuals had been briefed on income-generating alternatives from cattle by-products, equivalent to organising cow dung-based biogas crops, using cow urine, and making incense sticks (agarbatti) from cow dung.
A key consequence of the applications was a collective decision acknowledging that the presence of scrub bulls has restricted AI adoption in Great Nicobar.
