In line with the Chief Secretary’s directive mandating quarterly mock drills throughout all departments, the Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration, carried out a complete mock drill on the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) and the Port Management Board (PMB) on Friday. The train aimed to evaluate and improve preparedness in responding to earthquake and tsunami situations.
The drill commenced at 11:00 AM, with energetic participation from officers and employees of each departments. Real-time earthquake and tsunami simulations had been carried out to check response mechanisms, guaranteeing efficient coordination with key emergency providers, together with the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC-S/A), Fire Services, Police, Electricity Department, NDRF, Transport, and Health Departments.
