As a part of an ongoing drive towards illicit liquor actions in Nicobar district, the Excise Team of Police Station Campbell Bay carried out enforcement actions on June 4 and 5, ensuing within the destruction of fermenting lahan and the seizure of illicit liquor.
According to info shared by Nicobar Police on X (previously Twitter), the Excise Team performed a jungle search operation within the Rajiv Nagar space on June 4. During the operation, officers detected roughly 200 litres of fermenting lahan saved in jerry cans. The lahan was destroyed on the spot to forestall its alleged use within the manufacture of illicit liquor.
In a separate operation on June 5, the Excise Team, whereas conducting routine patrolling, intercepted a suspicious particular person. A search reportedly led to the restoration of 10 litres of illicit liquor saved in jerry cans. The liquor was seized, and authorized proceedings had been initiated in accordance with the related provisions of regulation.
The actions had been a part of the continued enforcement marketing campaign towards illicit liquor actions within the Nicobar district.
