The School of Nursing, Sri Vijaya Puram, organised the Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony for its twenty second batch of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) college students on October 30 at Lecture Hall 2 of ANIIMS.
Dr. Avijit Roy, Deputy Director (Health), attended the ceremony because the chief visitor and inspired the scholars to carry a humane contact to their each phrase and deed. He reminded them that nursing shouldn’t be merely a career however a dedication to humanity.
The spotlight of the ceremony was the administration of the Nightingale Pledge to the first-year GNM college students by Ms. Johena Riaz, Matron, G.B. Pant Hospital, symbolising their dedication to compassionate, moral and devoted nursing care.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Subrato Saha, Project Director, ANACS, who attended because the visitor of honour, urged the scholars to uphold the values of selfless service, dedication and compassion whereas caring for the sick and susceptible.
Dr. Shiny Varghese, Principal, School of Nursing, prolonged her greatest needs to the newly inducted college students.
