The Nicobar Forest Division, Department of Environment and Forests, organized an consciousness programme not too long ago at Anderson Bay Beach, Joginder Nagar, as a part of the continuing Turtle Festival. The occasion aimed to boost consciousness in regards to the significance of turtle conservation and encourage participation from folks throughout all walks of life.
The Turtle Festival, a first-of-its-kind initiative within the area, was launched to advertise public involvement within the safety of sea turtles. During the occasion, attendees had been briefed on the importance of turtle conservation and the varied actions undertaken by the Department to guard these endangered marine creatures.
The programme witnessed participation from representatives of Laxmi Nagar Panchayat, PHC Campbell Bay, APWD and native residents of Joginder village. Additionally, about ten college students and ten academics from Govt. SSS Vijay Nagar, joined the occasion, enhancing the spirit of neighborhood engagement.
A spotlight of the programme was the chance supplied to the scholars and members to launch recent hatchlings of Olive Ridley sea turtles into the ocean. The attendees enthusiastically took half on this memorable exercise, releasing roughly 600 hatchlings, symbolising a hopeful step towards the survival of those susceptible species.
The members, particularly the scholars, expressed immense delight and a way of achievement in being a part of this distinctive conservation effort. The Turtle Festival not solely created consciousness about marine life safety but in addition impressed the area people to contribute towards preserving the delicate marine ecosystem of the islands.
